Academy Tower

Como, Italy

The School for Architects was designed as an inverse of the existing surroundings in the medieval city center of Como, Italy.
The heavy mass of the school program is raised above the existing roofline and set atop a seemingly invisible glass volume that welcomes students and visitors at ground level.

Each of the studios within the raised heavy mass is strategically punctured to direct the occupants’ view towards architectural focal points in the city of Como.
