The Metropolis master plan design by Balian Architects maximizes the 6.33 acre site with 1.65 million square feet of residential, retail, amenity, office and hotel spaces. The site is entitled for five parcels of mixed-use development: hotel towers on Parcels A and C, residential towers on Parcels B and D, and an office tower on Parcel E. Each parcel boasts its own distinctively designed high rise tower and the five parcels are unified by the ground floor amenities and podium massing.

The masterplan design is integrated into the city-wide LA Live Redevelopment Plan to connect the LA Live Staples Arena to the Downtown core at 7th Street and Figueroa Street. Metropolis is the only site in the Business District with frontage onto the 110 Freeway, the future developments will be the gateway to the heart of downtown LA.
